First post of 2019
Welcome to a new year and a new look for The Crossroads! While my writing’s been MIA for the second half of last year, my interest in the hobby hasn’t. and I’ve been keeping tabs on all the additions and changes we’ve had to the 8th edition of Warhammer 40k. In fact, I took a break from writing to finish up on a 2000 point Aeldari army that I had been sitting on for awhile now and you can see the majority of it in the next blog post.
The second half of 2018 saw a number of 40k-related releases although the main-game related ones were the Imperial Knights, Space Wolves, and Orks Codexes, and Chapter Approved 2018. The majority were Kill Team, Necromunda, and boxed game (Blackstone Fortress) releases. While awesome (especially the Rogue Trader and Blackstone Fortress), they didn’t really impact the bigger Warhammer 40k game at large and so, kind of flew a little under my radar in terms of excitement. That said, we are looking for a Kill-Team contributor and if you’d like to fill that role, do drop me an email at email@example.com.
2019 promises to be an exciting year as most of the current codexes have been released (except poor Genestealer Cults which I’m sure will come soon as the teasers have started popping up) and I’m curious as to what Games Workshop has in store for the larger 40k game. The Crossroads will be here providing coverage of the more competitive 1750-2000 point local tournaments and will continue our analysis of new codexes once we’ve caught up with the previous 3 (IK, Space Wolves and Orks). As most of the previous articles are back on our previous hosting platform, I will be slowly bringing them over and updating them to the current meta and points changes. You can also look forward to more painting articles and I’ll be attempting to post a few videos as well after spending the second half of 2018’s spare time honing my painting skills.
Catch you guys in the Aeldari army showcase coming up next.
